我们研究了与无质量鬼标量场耦合的爱因斯坦场方程的静态球对称虫洞解的线性稳定性。这些解由其喉部的面积半径及其渐近平直端点处的质量乘积参数化。我们证明了所有这些解在线性扰动下都是不稳定的，并且恰好拥有一个随时间指数增长的不稳定模式。相关的时间尺度被证明约为虫洞喉部半径除以光速。非线性演化将在后续文章中进行分析。
