基于NEXT-White探测器中扩散效应的事件位置重建演示

摘要

惰性元素时间投影室是物理中稀有事件探测的领先技术,例如用于暗物质和无中微子双贝塔衰变搜寻。时间投影室通常利用prompt闪烁与延迟电荷收集信号的相对时间来确定漂移方向上的事件位置,从而实现对漂移方向绝对位置的重建。本文探讨了在纯高压氙气时间投影室中通过量化电子扩散来分配事件漂移距离的替代方法。来自NEXT-White探测器的数据表明,该方法对高能和低能事件均能取得良好的位置分配精度。利用来自83m^{83\mathrm{m}}Kr校准电子俘获(能量E45E\sim45keV)的点状能量沉积,低能事件的起源位置被确定到2 2~cm精度,偏差<1< 1mm。随后采用卷积神经网络方法量化较长径迹(E\geq1.5MeV)的扩散,在事件重心上获得3cm的精度。这些方法所达到的精度表明,在纯氙气中于Qββ_{\beta\beta}处实现优于1% FWHM的能量校准是可行的,同时也表明在未来大型探测器中使用不依赖初级闪烁的替代方法进行事件 fiducialization( fiducialization:有效体积内事件筛选)具有潜力。
