暗能量巡天超新星天区中的类星体选择研究

摘要

我们展示了使用暗能量巡天(DES)超新星天区进行类星体选择的研究。我们利用来自SDSS Stripe 82天区重叠部分的类星体星表,量化了涉及颜色、概率建模、光变以及颜色/概率建模与光变组合的选择方法的完备性和效率。我们仅考虑在DES图像中呈现为点源的天体。我们检验了基于WISE中红外W1-W2颜色、WISE与DES颜色混合(g-i和i-W1)以及VHS与DES颜色混合(g-i和i-K)的颜色选择方法。对于概率类星体选择,我们使用了XDQSOz,这是一种利用经验多波长类星体流量模型来分配类星体概率的算法。我们的光变选择使用了多波段卡方概率,即源在DES第一年griz波段光变曲线中保持恒定的概率。完备性和效率是相对于一个基础点源样本计算的,这些点源在所需的选择波段中被探测到,并通过了我们的数据质量和测光误差筛选。我们在两个星等极限下进行分析:i<19.8 mag和i<22 mag。对于有W1和W2探测的源,W1-W2颜色或XDQSOz方法与光变结合,在两个i波段星等极限下均给出了最高的完备性(>85%),在亮极限下效率>80%,在暗极限下效率>60%;然而,giW1和giW1+光变方法给出了最高的类星体面密度。当同时需要高完备性和高效率时,XDQSOz方法以及W1W2/giW1/XDQSOz与光变的组合是较好的选择方法。我们还提供了OzDES类星体星表,包含由OzDES巡天获取的1,263个光谱证认类星体。该星表包含红移高达z~4且亮于i=22 mag的类星体,尽管该星表在此星等极限下并不完备。
