MEG实验对μ→eγ衰变的限制

摘要
在PSI进行的MEG实验基于最初三个月运行数据,对μ→eγ衰变进行了搜寻,给出了该衰变分支比的上限:BR(μ→eγ) < 2.8 × 10⁻¹¹ (90%置信水平)。该结果对应于通过超导正电子谱仪和900升液氙光子探测器,对约10¹⁴个静止μ子衰变产生的正电子和光子进行的测量。
