在成像科学的图案匹配方法中，“metamorphosis”过程是指具有动力学模板的模板匹配。在这里，我们将metamorphosis方程重新表述为欧拉-普朗克变分框架中的形式，并表明metamorphosis方程包含完美复合流体\cite{Ho2002}的方程。这一结果将图案匹配中metamorphosis过程所蕴含的思想与复杂流体理论中的序参数组合概念相联系。在发展一般理论之后，我们重新解释了各种实例，包括点集、图像和密度metamorphosis。最后我们讨论了匹配度量与metamorphosis的问题，并为初始和边界值问题提供存在性定理。
