摘要
我们对最近引入的伽马射线源变异性指数τ（Tompkins 1999）和I（Zhang et al. 2000 & Torres et al. 2001）进行了蒙特卡洛分析。我们探索了不同的变异性标准，并证明这两个指数，尽管用于计算它们的方法非常不同，但在统计上是相关的（5到7σ）。这一结论对于AGN和高纬度（|b|>10度）源的子集也成立，而低纬度源的相关性降低，那里弥漫银河发射背景的影响很强。
