SuperKEKB 第二阶段束流本底测量

摘要

SuperKEKB 正负电子对撞机的高设计亮度将导致相互作用区出现极具挑战性的束流诱发本底水平。理解并缓解这些本底对 Belle II 实验的成功至关重要。我们报告了在 Belle II 探测器滚入后、称为 SuperKEKB 第二阶段的时期内进行的首次本底测量,利用了专用的 BEAST II 本底探测系统以及 Belle II 探测器本身。我们还报告了根据我们的发现对本底模拟所作的首次修订。测量的本底包括同步辐射、束流-气体、Touschek 以及注入本底的贡献。在第二阶段结束时,源自 4 GeV 正电子低能环(LER)的单束本底与模拟相当吻合,而源自 7 GeV 电子高能环(HER)的本底比模拟约高一个数量级。我们将这些本底向前外推,并得出结论:安装 Belle II 顶点探测器是安全的。
