Google Scholar Citations 和 Google Scholar Metrics 的推出可能会在研究评估领域引发一场革命，因为它让每位研究人员都能使用进行文献计量测量的工具。为了提醒研究界注意操纵 Google 产品提供的数据和文献计量指标是多么容易，我们展示了一项实验，在该实验中，我们通过创建引用其文档的虚假文档来操纵一个研究小组的 Google Citations 个人资料，进而修改了他们发表论文的期刊及其 H 指数。为此，我们创建了一份由虚构作者撰写的六篇文档，并将其上传到格拉纳达大学域名下的研究人员个人网站。实验结果导致 129 篇论文的引用量增加了 774 次（每篇论文 6 次引用），从而提高了作者和期刊的 H 指数。我们分析了此类做法可能对 Google Scholar Citations 和 Google Scholar Metrics 造成的恶意影响。最后，我们就这些不当行为可能产生的影响以及这些工具缺乏控制手段进行了若干论述。
