缺失数据对21厘米功率谱的影响及其统计缓解:以氢再电离时代阵列为例

摘要

精确表征和缓解系统效应是阻碍探测宇宙学21厘米信号涨落的最大障碍之一。射电宇宙学实验中的数据缺失,通常由射频干扰(RFI)引起,对功率谱分析构成了特殊挑战,因为它可能导致傅里叶空间中明亮前景模式的振铃效应,严重污染宇宙学信号。在此,我们表明,在存在系统效应的情况下,数据缺失问题变得更加棘手。通过使用真实的数值模拟,我们证明了部分标记的数据与系统效应相结合,可以引入显著的前景振铃。我们表明,这种效应可以通过修复缺失数据来缓解。我们提出了一个严格的统计框架,该框架将修复缺失数据的过程纳入21cm功率谱的二次估计器中。在此框架下,可以理解与我们的修复方法相关的不确定性及其对功率谱统计的影响。这些结果被应用于氢再电离时代阵列(HERA)最新的第二阶段观测,构成了在日益嘈杂的RFI环境中朝着探测21cm信号迈进的功率谱分析的关键组成部分。
