Euclid 任务准备:利用 NISP 进行活动星系核光谱研究

活动星系核(AGN)关键性质(如吸积率、质量或自旋)的统计分布与演化仍是天体物理学中悬而未决的争论。欧洲空间局(ESA)的 Euclid 空间任务于 2023 年 7 月 1 日发射,有望在该领域实现突破。我们创建了详细的 AGN 光谱模拟星表,从静止系近红外到紫外,包含发射线,以模拟 Euclid 对遮蔽(2 型)与未遮蔽(1 型)AGN 的观测。我们聚焦于 NISP 仪器的红色光栅,其将用于广域巡天,为近红外光谱 AGN 研究开启新窗口。我们量化了红移测定效率以及 Hα\alpha+[NII] 复合体发射线流量的恢复效率,因为 Euclid 主要关注该发射线,预期其在所探测红移范围内最亮。在 Hα\alpha+[NII] 可见的区间内(0.89<z<1.83,线流量 >2x1016>2x10^{-16} erg s1^{-1} cm2^{-2},涵盖 z11.5z\simeq 1-1.5 处 AGN 活动峰值),红色光栅光谱覆盖范围内 83% 的模拟 AGN 获得了光谱红移。在此红移范围外,测量效率显著下降。总体而言,对于 2 型 AGN 直至发射线流量 3x10163x10^{-16} erg s1^{-1} cm2^{-2},以及 1 型 AGN 直至 8.5x10168.5x10^{-16} erg s1^{-1} cm2^{-2},约 90% 正确确定了光谱红移。恢复的黑洞质量值与输入值有约 10% 的小偏移,但总体一致性良好。凭借 z<2 如此高的光谱覆盖率,我们将能够基于均一的光谱信息,对数十万 AGN 从 AGN 活动峰值时期到当今宇宙测量其人口统计、标度关系与成团性。
