欧几里得准备工作. XLIX. 使用观测颜色选取活跃性星系核

摘要

欧几里得将覆盖超过14000平方度,包含两个光学和近红外光谱-光度仪器,预计检测约有千万个活跃性星系核(AGN)。这一独特的数据集将对我们对星系演化和AGN的理解产生重大影响。本文我们识别了基于欧几里得光度或包括额外光度观测(如将来可用Rubin太空时代遗产调查(LSST)的数据以及来自Spitzer/IRAC的现有观测)的AGN最佳颜色选取标准。针对无遮蔽AGN、遮蔽AGN以及复合(AGN和星形)对象进行分析。我们利用红外选定目标在全红程(Sprit)的光谱-光度实现情况,创建模拟目录以模拟欧几里得宽广调查(EWS)和欧几里得深入调查(EDS)。通过这些目录我们估计最佳颜色选取,最大化完整性和纯度的调和平均数(F1)。仅用欧几里得光度即可在两种欧几里得调查中选取无遮蔽AGN,F1为0.22-0.23,若限制在z>0.7时可提高至F1=0.43-0.38。一旦考虑Rubin/LSST滤波器(包括u、g、r或z滤波器的组合),选取效果显著提升,分别达到EDS和EWS的F1为0.84和0.86。将欧几里得颜色与[3.6]-[4.5]颜色的组合(仅在EDS中可能)实现F1为0.59,优于仅用欧几里得滤波器,但不如结合欧几里得和LSST的选取。对于复合(fAGNf_{{\rm AGN}}=0.05-0.65于8-40 μm\mu m)和遮蔽AGN的选取具有挑战性,即使包含额外数据,F1也小于0.3。这由0.3-5 $\mu m波段范围内这些AGN和星形星系的宽带光谱能分布相似性所致。
