DES15E2mlf:一颗在大爆炸后35亿年爆发且经光谱证实的极亮超新星

摘要

我们展示了暗能量巡天(DES)对DES15E2mlf的发现,这是迄今为止经光谱证实的最遥远的极亮超新星(SLSN)。DES15E2mlf的光变曲线与Gemini光谱表明它是一颗位于z = 1.861(回溯时间约10 Gyr)的I型极亮超新星(SLSN-I),峰值绝对星等为M_AB = -22.3 +/- 0.1 mag。鉴于其高红移,我们的数据探测了该超新星在静止参考系紫外(1400-3500 A)波段的性质,发现在最大光度前后14天内C III特征的速度变化了约5600 km/s。我们发现DES15E2mlf宿主星系的恒星质量为3.5^+3.6_-2.4 x 10^9 M_sun,这比典型的SLSN-I宿主星系质量更大。
