研究首例经光谱确认的红移二处超新星的紫外光谱

摘要

我们展示了 DES16C2nm 的观测结果,这是首例在红移 z~2 处经光谱确认的无氢超亮超新星(SLSN-I)。DES16C2nm 由暗能量巡天(DES)超新星计划发现,哈勃空间望远镜、双子星望远镜和欧洲南方天文台甚大望远镜的测光后续数据补充了 DES 数据。光谱观测确认 DES16C2nm 位于 z=1.998,且在光谱上与 Gaia16apd(z=0.102 处的 SLSN-I)相似,峰值绝对星等为 U=-22.26±\pm0.06。DES16C2nm 的高红移为研究 SLSNe-I 的紫外(UV)性质提供了独特机会。将 DES16C2nm 与文献中十个类似事件结合,我们表明在 UV(~2500A)处存在一类均匀的 SLSNe-I,其在(静止帧)U 波段具有峰值光度,且向更短波长吸收增强。没有证据表明 SLSNe-I 的平均测光和光谱性质在低(z<1)和高红移(z>1)间存在差异,但有明确证据表明在 <2000A 处光谱存在多样性,可能由事件间温度差异引起。未观测到谱线速度与会光度之间的显著相关性。利用这些数据,我们估计 DES 可发现至 z=3.8 的 SLSNe-I。虽然 SLSNe-I 通常在低红移(z<1)处由其蓝观测色识别,我们强调在 z>2 时这些事件显得光学偏红,在观测者帧 z 波段达到峰值。此类特征对未来设施如大型综合巡天望远镜、Euclid 和宽场红外巡天望远镜识别这些天体至关重要,它们应分别可探测到 z=3.5、3.7 和 6.6 的此类 SLSNe-I。
