切伦科夫望远镜阵列原型史瓦西-库德望远镜的相机设计与性能

摘要

史瓦西-库德望远镜(SCT)是切伦科夫望远镜阵列(CTA)中一种中型望远镜的候选技术,CTA是下一代用于甚高能伽马射线天文学的地面观测台。SCT采用新颖的双镜设计,相比基于单镜面碟形光学的传统切伦科夫望远镜,有望在视场和图像分辨率方面取得改进。为匹配提升的光学分辨率,相机必须克服低功耗下高通道数和通道密度的严苛要求。目前已在原型SCT上调试和测试的原型相机,基于毫米级SiPM像素和定制高密度数字化ASIC(TARGET)开发,提供覆盖2.7度视场的1600像素,同时能够对纳秒级光子脉冲进行采样。其机械设计允许升级至11288像素、覆盖8度视场,以展示该技术的全部潜力。该相机于2018年安装在望远镜上。我们将介绍其设计与性能,包括首次光数据。
