摘要
本文关于 Artin 辫子群及其在纽结理论中的作用。我们为自己设定两个目标：（i）提供足够的基础背景，以使我们的综述对研究生而言是可理解的；（ii）聚焦于过去 20 年中取得重大进展或发现了已知结果有趣新证明的那些部分。我们试图展开的一个中心主题是展示在辫子群中首先发现的结构推广到 Garside 群、Artin 群与曲面映射类群中的结构的方式。然而，文献浩繁，且出于篇幅原因，我们的覆盖必然省略了许多非常有趣的发展。开放问题在遇及之处被注明并如此标记。
