首次 LUX 暗物质搜寻的有效场论分析

摘要

大型地下氙(LUX)暗物质搜寻是一个 250 kg 活性质量双相时间投影室,通过探测入射到氙靶上的粒子所产生的光和电离信号工作。2015 年 12 月,LUX 基于首次科学运行 1.4e4 kg*day 曝光量,报道了自旋无关 WIMP-核子弹性散射截面 6e-46 cm^2 的 90% 最小上限置信水平。实验间的张力以及缺乏明确正探测表明,在标准形式无关/自旋相关范式之外搜寻 WIMP 是审慎的。近期理论工作已确定一组包含 14 个独立有效场论(EFT)算符的完整基来描述 WIMP-核子相互作用。除自旋无关与自旋相关核响应外,这些算符还可产生角动量依赖与自旋轨道耦合等新颖响应。在此,我们报道利用 LUX 首次科学运行数据对所有 14 种 EFT 耦合的搜寻。针对每种耦合作为 WIMP 质量的函数给出了限制。
