XENON1T实验的$^{222}$Rn析出测量

摘要

低放射性结构材料的选择对于低能稀有事件搜寻实验的成功至关重要。除块体中的放射性污染物外,材料表面放射性氡原子的析出在进一步降低此类实验本底的努力中日益重要。本工作中,我们展示了为XENON1T暗物质实验所进行的222^{222}Rn析出测量。结合块体杂质筛查活动,其结果使我们能够挑选放射性最纯的结构材料,目标是在3.2 t氙中实现10 μ\muBq/kg的222^{222}Rn活度浓度。对222^{222}Rn源分布的了解使我们能在实验过程中有选择地消除关键部件。析出测量的预测与XENON1T中222^{222}Rn活度浓度的数据进行了比较。XENON1T靶体中最终的222^{222}Rn活度浓度为(4.5 ±\pm 0.1) μ\muBq/kg,是氙暗物质实验中有史以来达到的最低值。
