XENON1T暗物质实验的材料放射性分析与筛选

摘要

XENON1T暗物质实验旨在通过氙原子低能相互作用探测弱相互作用大质量粒子(WIMPs)。探测如此稀有事件需要使用放射纯材料,以最小化预期WIMP信号区域内的本底事件数。本文中我们报告了XENON1T实验广泛材料放射性分析活动的结果。利用伽马能谱法和质谱技术,对广泛材料中一百余个样品的痕量放射性杂质进行了系统测量。测得的活度使得在探测器建造阶段能够对材料进行严格筛选与布置,并通过蒙特卡洛模拟为XENON1T探测灵敏度估计提供了输入。
