使用溶解氡-220源的XENON100校准结果

摘要

为了应对吨量级液态惰性元素探测器校准中的挑战,在XENON100暗物质探测器上部署了一个Rn-220源。我们表明,Pb-212的β发射可用于暗物质搜寻中的低能电子反冲校准。该同位素扩散到探测器的整个活跃区域,并且在源关闭后一周内其活度自然衰减至本底水平以下。我们发现校准后麻烦的Rn-222本底活度没有增加。α发射体也分布在整个探测器中,并有助于校准其对Rn-222的响应。利用Rn-220/Po-216的延迟符合,我们首次绘制了XENON100探测器中粒子的对流运动图。此外,我们对Po-212的半衰期进行了具有竞争力的测量,t = 293.9+-(1.0)+-(0.6) ns。
