GRB 990712光学尾流的偏振变率

摘要
在最近的一篇论文中，Rol等人提出了γ射线暴后光学尾流中存在可变偏振的证据，即GRB 990712。这种变率高度显著，但位置角看起来是时间独立的。与他们的结论相反，我们指出这实际上可以用现有的尾流模型来解释，即后向膨胀的喷气。
