COMPASS RICH-1中基于混合MPGD的光子探测器

摘要

用于RICH应用的新型单光子气体探测器已于2016年开发并安装在COMPASS RICH-1上。它们具有由两层交错THGEM(其中一层配备CsI光转换层)和一块bulk Micromegas组成的混合架构;它们覆盖总面积1.4平方米,稳定且高效地运行。它们提供约1.8 mrad的单光子角分辨率,以及在饱和时每个环约10个被探测到的光子。本文介绍其建造与调试的主要方面、表征及性能数据。
