摘要
我们探讨了Twitter上围绕争议性话题的极化现象如何随时间演变——既包括长期（2011年至2016年）的变化，也包括对导致相关活动增加的重大外部事件的响应。我们发现，活动增加通常与极化加剧相关；然而，在我们研究的话题中，并未发现极化随时间呈现一致的长期趋势。
