SOXS(X-Shooter之子,SOn of X-Shooter)是一台高效率光谱仪,在整个波段具有约3500的平均分辨率-狭缝乘积,能够同时观测350–2000 nm的完整光谱范围。它由三个科学臂(UV-VIS光谱仪、NIR光谱仪和 Acquisition Camera)通过Common Path系统连接至NTT以及校准单元组成。我们概述了从科学需求到技术需求的流程,以及各子系统的实现。此外,我们概述了用于规划和管理子系统装配、集成与测试的方法,包括在欧洲进行的仪器验收(PAE)之前,以及SOXS集成至NTT的计划。SOXS可作为具有中等复杂度、团队地理分布广泛的仪器系统工程的范例。
