Son of X-Shooter(SOXS)将是一台高效率光谱仪,其平均分辨率-狭缝积约为 ,覆盖整个波段,能够同时观测 350-2000 nm 的完整光谱范围。它由三个科学臂(UV-VIS 光谱仪、NIR 光谱仪和 Acquisition Camera)通过公共光路系统连接至 NTT 以及校准单元组成。公共光路是仪器的主干,也是与 NTT 纳兹米焦点法兰的接口。仪器项目于 2018 年通过最终设计评审,目前处于装配集成与测试(AIT)阶段。本文概述了 SOXS 的观测模式及各子系统的效率,以及评估效率的实验室测试计划。
