芯半径大于壳半径的涂层圆柱体中的场解看似非物理,但如果通过展开几何变换为等价问题,则可获得物理意义。特别是,展开后的材料可充当阻抗匹配超透镜,并且当透镜中的损耗趋于零时,位于超透镜周围临界区域内的有限集合的可极化线偶极子被证明是隐身的,其偶极矩趋于零。这种隐身现象既发生在折叠几何中也发生在等价的展开几何中,它是由于反常共振引起的,其中偶极子集合产生反常共振场,该场反过来作用于偶极子,基本上抵消了作用在它们上的外部场。
