摘要
亚 GeV 质量暗物质的粒子与原子核的散射,由于核反冲过程中的能量转移小于典型探测器阈值,难以使用基于液氙的暗物质搜寻装置探测。然而,树级暗物质-原子核散射图可伴随同时发射一个轫致光子或所谓的“Migdal”电子。这些在比相应核反冲更高的能量处为实验信号提供了电子反冲成分。该信号的存在使得液氙探测器能在分析中同时使用闪烁与电离信号,而核反冲信号原本不可见。我们利用大型地下氙(LUX)实验 2013 年数据的 1.4×10^4 kg·day 搜寻曝光量,针对四类不同的媒介子,报告了质量 0.4-5 GeV/c^2 的暗物质粒子的自旋无关暗物质-核子散射的限制。该分析将基于液氙的暗物质搜寻装置所能触及的暗物质质量下限拓展到了比以往更低的水平。
