摘要
在之前的三篇系列论文中，已经提出了 FITS 数据中世界坐标变换的表述和具体细节。这第四篇论文涉及时间的编码。天文数据集中已知的所有尺度和精度的时间都应以明确、完整且自洽的方式进行描述。利用成熟的世界坐标系（WCS）框架，并保持与当前用于指定时间的 FITS 惯例的兼容性，该标准被扩展以严格描述时间坐标。定义了用于线性采样和由查找表指定的时间轴的世界坐标函数。由此产生的标准与现有的 FITS WCS 标准一致，并指定了一套实现上述目标的元数据。
