考察两种已知在一维系统中表现出相变的典型案例：(A) 一种具有调和最近邻弹性相互作用和局部摩尔势的格子模型；(B) 具有远程偶极相互作用随距离平方衰减的铁磁性自旋 1/2 伊辛模型。两种情况下，域壁构型在临界温度或极近似处变得熵力稳定。这或许可为一维系统相变的发生提供一个“正面”判据。
