分析了原始卡鲁扎理论的场方程，并表明它们导致爱因斯坦方程的修正。研究了出现的额外能量-动量张量，并给出了一个例子，表明这个额外的能量-动量张量允许四维史瓦西几何容纳静电学。这种对赖斯纳-诺德斯特伦几何的偏离可以解释史瓦西几何不仅源于质量，而且源于质量和电荷的综合效应，甚至可能仅源于电荷。
