摘要
Bethe 近似发现于统计物理学中，提供了一种称为信念传播 (belief propagation, BP) 的高效算法，用于近似配分函数。BP 在许多问题上经验性地给出了准确的近似，例如低密度奇偶校验码、压缩感知等。最近，Vontobel 利用图覆盖 (graph cover) 给出了 Bethe 近似的新刻画。本文提出了一种基于 Bethe 近似的新近似方法。该新近似源自 Vontobel 利用图覆盖的刻画，并使用边 zeta 函数 (edge zeta function) 表达，正如 Watanabe 和 Fukumizu 所示，该函数与 Bethe 自由能的 Hessian 矩阵相关。在某些条件下，证明了新近似在渐近意义上优于 Bethe 近似。
