阿波罗11号鹰号登月舱上升级在1969年历史性着陆后被遗弃于月球轨道。其命运未知。此处所述的数值分析提供的证据表明，该物体可能至今仍留在月球轨道上。模拟显示了轨道偏心率的周期性变化，其与拱线月面经度相关。拱线进动速率与偏心率相关。这两个因素似乎相互作用，从而长期稳定了该轨道。
