开普勒-16:一颗凌星环双星行星

摘要

我们报告了一颗围绕一对低质量恒星运行的行星的探测结果。开普勒航天器的数据揭示了该行星凌过两颗恒星的现象,此外还观测到了两颗恒星之间的相互掩食,这为三个天体的绝对尺度提供了精确约束。该行星的质量和大小与土星相当,围绕其两颗母星运行在近乎圆形的229天轨道上。这两颗掩食恒星的质量分别为太阳的20%和69%,运行在偏心的41天轨道上。三个天体的运动都被限制在单一平面0.5度范围内,表明该行星形成于环双星盘中。
