本文研究了 Einstein-\ae ther 理论和广义 TeVeS 理论的极化内容。Einstein-\ae ther 理论具有五种极化，而广义 TeVeS 理论具有六种。特别地，横向和纵向呼吸极化是混合的。我们还研究了在 Einstein-\ae ther 理论中使用脉冲星计时阵列探测额外极化的可能性。分析表明，在该理论中无法使用脉冲星计时阵列轻易区分不同的极化。对于广义 TeVeS 理论，由于 GW170817 设定的速度限制，其中一种传播模式的传播速度远大于光速。在某些参数子空间中，强耦合不会发生，因此该理论被排除。
