摘要
洛伦兹几何中不可能有 Hopf-Rinow 定理。尽管如此，我们证明一个时空是全局双曲的，当且仅当它相对于某个时间函数的零距离是度量完备的。我们的方法基于如下观察：零距离在正则性与因果性方面对弱时间函数表现尤为良好。具体而言，我们还表明柯西时间函数与正则宇宙学时间函数的零距离在全局上编码了因果性。
