热带代数几何是热带半环 $(\mathbb{R},\min,+)$ 的几何。其对象是形如复代数簇的的多面体胞腔复形。我们给出这一理论的导论，着重于平面曲线与线性空间。新结果包括对热带射影平面中过四点的二次曲线族的完整描述，以及帕普斯定理关联版本的一个反例。
