HerMES关于亚毫米光度函数演化的首批结果

我们利用赫歇尔空间天文台上的两台相机之一SPIRE,在接近远红外背景峰值的250微米波段进行了两次极深巡天。我们利用这些结果研究了静止系250微米光度函数直至z=2的演化。我们发现了直至红移约1处存在强烈演化的证据,但超出该红移后最多仅有微弱演化的证据。我们的结果表明,当今宇宙中很大一部分恒星和金属是在z<1.4期间于旋涡星系中形成的。
