摘要
已为哈勃深场星系确定了光度红移。 resulting redshift distribution 显示出两个峰：一个在 z≈0.6 处，另一个在 z≈2.2 处。从红移推导出的光度函数显示出随红移变化的显著光度演化。这种演化与 Babul & Rees (1992) 的情景相符，其中大质量星系在高红移时形成星际，而矮星系的星际形成直到 z=1 之后才开始延迟。
