摘要
MINERvA 实验在平均束流能量为 4.5 GeV 的碳氢化合物靶上的中性流中微子相互作用中,观察到包含电磁簇射的事件数超出蒙特卡洛模拟的预期。该超出被表征,并发现与中性流中性 π 介子产生一致,其具有峰值在 7 GeV 的宽能量分布和总截面 。超出的角分布、电磁簇射能量和能量沉积的空间分布与碳氢化合物靶中来自氢的中微子中性流衍射中性 π 介子产生的预期一致。这些数据构成了对该反应的首个直接实验观测和约束,该反应在寻找 μ 中微子到电子中微子振荡的中微子振荡实验中是一个重要的背景过程。
