摘要
D=11 超重力拥有 D=5 Calabi-Yau 紧致化解，可识别为 M-理论/异弦对偶的 Horava-Witten 轨道折构造的真空。这些解中最简单者自然涉及两个 3-brane 域墙，可识别为轨道折边界平面；此解还拥有未破缺的 对称性。对邻近激发解的考察，截断至零模与 不变 Sector，得到一个显示手性与 N=1, D=4 超对称的有效的 D=4 异弦理论。
