SwissFEL 注入器测试设施的调试经验与束流物理测量

摘要

SwissFEL 注入器测试设施于 2010 年至 2014 年间在 Paul Scherrer 研究所运行,作为 SwissFEL(在同一研究所建设的 X 射线自由电子激光设施)开发和实现的先导装置与测试平台。该测试设施由一个激光驱动射频电子枪组成,其后接 S 波段增强直线加速器、磁束流压缩 chicane 以及包含横向偏转射频腔的诊断段。它在 10 Hz 的重复频率下提供电荷量高达 200 pC、束流能量高达 250 MeV 的电子束。在该测试设施中进行的测量不仅证明了驱动 FEL 设施第一阶段所需的束流参数,还推动了仪器技术、束流表征方法以及超低发射度束流的产生、传输和压缩方面的显著进展。我们全面概述了主要子系统的调试经验以及该测试设施运行期间进行的束流物理测量,包括在真空紫外和光学范围内产生辐射的真空内波荡器原型的测试结果。
