在最近的Letter中，Luo等人（Phys. Rev. Lett. 92, 256602 (2004)）分析了从扫描隧道显微镜(STS)对过渡金属杂质在简单金属表面上的Fano线型，特别是Ti/Au(111)和Ti/Ag(100)体系。他们声称，除了在Ujsaghy等人（Phys. Rev. Lett. 85, 2557 (2000)）中推导的杂质d轨道与导电电子连续体之间的Fano干涉效应外，d电子谱密度中的Kondo共振本身也具有第二种Fano线型，从而导致实验观察到的谱线。本文指出，这一分析在概念上是不正确的。因此，拟合理论谱线与实验结果之间的定量一致性是没有意义的。
