利用南极望远镜在毫米波波段对小行星的观测测量

摘要

我们展示了南极望远镜(SPT)毫米波(mm)数据中对小行星的首次测量,该望远镜主要用于研究宇宙微波背景(CMB)。我们分析了黄道面附近两个各约 270\sim270 deg2^2 天区的中性地图,每个天区在一个月内由 SPTpol 相机观测约 100\sim100 次。我们减去给定视场所有地图的均值以去除静态天区信号,随后在已知小行星位置处对去均值地图进行平均。我们在 2.0 mm(150 GHz)处以信噪比(S/N)分别为 11.2、10.4 和 6.1 探测到三颗小行星 – \text{ -- }(324)Bamberga、(13)Egeria 和(22)Kalliope;我们还在 3.2 mm(95 GHz)处以 S/N 为 4.1 探测到(324)Bamberga。我们约束了这些小行星的有效发射率、亮温和光变曲线调制幅度。我们对(324)Bamberga 和(13)Egeria 的流量密度测量与预测大致相符,而对(22)Kalliope 的测量表明流量较低,对应于 2.0 mm 处有效发射率为 0.66±0.110.66 \pm 0.11、3.2 mm 处小于 0.470.47。我们预测了其他 SPT 数据集中可探测的小行星,并发现与近期 SPT-3G 相机数据中对(772)Tanete 和(1093)Freda 的探测结果吻合良好,SPT-3G 的制图速度约为 SPTpol 的 10×\sim10 \times。本工作是 CMB 巡天数据中针对小行星的首次聚焦分析,表明我们可将历史与未来数据集重新用于小行星研究。未来的 SPT 测量有助于约束更大小行星群体的表面性质分布。
