一种从液态氙体相中操控和识别单个钡离子的装置

摘要

我们描述了一种用于输运和识别在液态氙中产生的钡离子的系统,这是面向双贝塔衰变实验 nEXO 第二阶段研发工作的一部分。其目标是识别由同位素 136^{136}Xe 极罕见核衰变产生的 Ba 离子,从而证实该衰变的发生。这一目标通过共振电离光谱 (Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy, RIS) 实现。在本文描述的测试装置中,Ba 离子可在液态氙或真空中产生并收集于洁净基底上。随后将该基底移至真空分析室,利用激光诱导热脱附和 RIS,结合飞行时间 (TOF) 质谱技术,对钡衰变产物进行确证识别。
