摘要

本文描述了一种用于富集氙观测站(EXO)的线性射频离子阱(RFQ)的设计、建造和性能。EXO 旨在探测 136^{136}Xe 到 136^{136}Ba 的无中微子双贝塔衰变。为了抑制可能的背景,EXO 将在充氙探测器中测量衰变能量,并在一定程度上测量候选事件的拓扑结构,同时补充对子核(136^{136}Ba)的鉴别。本文描述的离子阱能够接收、冷却和约束从候选双贝塔衰变事件位置提取的单个 Ba 离子。然后,可以通过激光光谱以高信噪比识别单个被捕获的离子。
