X射线偏振是通过成像X射线偏振探测器对天体物理喷流中的粒子加速进行探测的独特新手段。本文报告了对蝎虎座BL型天体 Mrk 421 的首次密集X射线偏振监测活动。我们的观测伴随着更为密集的射电和光学偏振监测。我们在X射线偏振度和偏振角上均发现了显著的短时标变化,包括沿喷流轴约 的偏振角旋转。我们将其归因于磁场的随机变化,这与存在湍流相符,但也难以仅用湍流来解释。同时,较低能量偏振度显著较低,且仅表现出轻微的变化。我们的活动提供了进一步的证据,支持以下情景:相对论电子的能量分层激波加速与湍流磁场相结合,导致了蝎虎座BL型天体喷流中从光学到X射线的同步辐射。
