追踪 PG 1553+113 的宽带极化特性

摘要

我们报告了对 PG 1553+113 的九个月监测计划,依托于2025年三次使用成像 X 射线极化探测仪器(IXPE)所进行的观测,并得到多波段设施的支持。该源在电磁波谱中显示出显著的变动,X 射线通量变化可达约5倍,且光学极化性质呈现复杂演化,包括记录下来的一种最大的(超过 150150^{\circ})和最快的电向量位角(EVPA)旋转。这种 EVPA 的旋转也伴随着光学极化程度暂时下降至接近零。观察到显著的 X 射线极化,在第三次观测中,极化程度为 ΠX=(18.4±5.8)%\Pi_{\rm X}\,=\,(18.4\,\pm\,5.8)\%,偏振角为 ΨX=74±9\Psi_{\rm X}\,=\,74^{\circ} \pm 9^{\circ}(位于 2--8 keV 能段),而在前两次观测中仅获得上限。光学数据显示,第二次 IXPE 观测发生在一次 dramatic 的光学极化事件之后,这一事件以快速的 EVPA 旋转和强烈的去极化特征为特征。可能解释这种宽带极化行为的两种情形:(i) 两个 nearly 正交磁场配置的发射区的叠加,其相对贡献可变;(ii) 单个发射区与一次冲击的相互作用,暂时重新排序磁场。两种情况下,数据都支持一种模型,即 X 射线和光学发射来自于在动态演化的、磁场结构化的喷流中的彼此密切但并非严格共位置的区域。
