BL Lac 型耀变体 1ES 0229+200 的 X 射线偏振

摘要

我们给出了耀变体 1ES 0229+200 在 28keV2-8 \thinspace \mathrm{keV} 能段的偏振测量,这是首个被成像 X 射线偏振探测器(IXPE)观测到的极端高同步辐射峰源。结合相隔约两周的两次曝光,通过 IXPE 与 XMM-Newton 联合观测的光谱偏振拟合,我们发现偏振度为 ΠX=17.9±2.8%\Pi_{X} = 17.9 \pm 2.8 \%,电矢量位置角为 ψX=25.0±4.6\psi_X = 25.0 \pm 4.6^{\circ}。无论是在短时间尺度(小时)还是较长时间尺度(天)上,均无证据表明偏振度或偏振角随能量或时间发生显著变化。同时代光学波段的偏振度低了 >>7×\times,使 1ES 0229+200 成为迄今观测到的最强色散耀变体。这种高 X 射线偏振相对于光学偏振的情况,进一步支持高同步辐射峰耀变体中的 X 射线辐射起源于激波加速、能量分层电子群,但与许多近期试图重现 1ES 0229+200 能谱能量分布、将极高能同步辐射与康普顿峰归因于强湍流磁场附近费米加速的建模工作存在张力。
