一颗亚水星大小的系外行星

摘要

自发现第一颗系外行星以来,我们已知其他行星系统可能与我们的太阳系截然不同。然而,直到最近,我们仅能探测行星尺寸分布的上限范围。开普勒空间望远镜的高精度使我们能够探测到地球大小甚至更小的行星,但此前尚未发现任何小于太阳系内行星的行星。在此,我们报告发现了一颗显著小于水星的行星。这颗微小的行星是环绕类太阳宿主恒星(我们将其命名为开普勒 -37)运行的三颗行星中最内侧的一颗。由于其极小的尺寸(与地球月球相当)以及高度受辐射的表面,开普勒 -37b 可能是一颗类似水星的岩石行星,没有大气层或水。
