我们发展了一种用于计算多颜色星系survey中过密度的方法，并比较了在不同红移误差分布下的局部密度对比度在星系样本中的测量值。我们计算了三个COMBO-17字段的过密度，并在CDFS中识别出一个区域，其密度比其他两个字段低约为2倍。这主要归因于暗淡红色星系的缺乏。这一结果与2dF中的局部观测结果一致。
