理解COSMOS场中红移~1处星系两点相关函数的形状

摘要

我们研究了在zCOSMOS巡天中测量的星系两点相关函数形状如何依赖于局部环境,该环境以5 Mpc/h尺度上的密度对比度量化。我们表明,之前在红移 z=0.6z=0.6z=1z=1 之间观测到的平坦形状可以通过该体积相对于宇宙密度概率分布函数在高密度环境中仅多出10%来解释。当排除对应于分布顶部10%尾部的星系时,测得的 wp(rp)w_p(r_p) 变陡,并在所有尺度上与LCDM预测无法区分。这与Abbas和Sheth在红移~0的SDSS数据中认识到的效应相同,并被解释为层级形成场景中晕-环境关联的自然结果。居住在高密度区域的星系追踪的暗物质晕通常具有更高的质量,因此相关性更强。如果样本的密度概率分布函数由于有限大小引入的方差而特别富含高密度区域,这会产生扭曲的两点相关函数。我们认为这是导致COSMOS场中观测到的“奇特”成团性的主导效应。
